Tried & Tested Recipes with Ancient Purity’s Products
I’m going to take this article today and make it all about various different recipes! This will cover a wide array of our products for which I will link and then discuss briefly the different health benefits that particular product may bring. There are various articles on our products so if you wanted to dive deeper into any of the mentioned products then please do, I just thought it handy to have this information in one specific place; my idea with this, so close to Christmas, is to have one place that we can all go (myself included) that covers all basis of the different gifts we may be lucky enough to receive this winter period, or gift others, with helpful ways in which to use them all.
These recipes are tried and tested by either yours truly, the other members of staff at Ancient Purity, or customers of ours we have had over the years, and of course friends and family members of ours that have kindly offered up their awesome recipes for me to collate them together in one handy place for us to have constant access to. I am hoping the following might either add to your own collection or inspire you with other products, ideas perhaps you may not have thought of before. I will link each product in the description below its title so you have easy access to each product. I will also be sure to link other suggested Ancient Purity products in the recipe lists that are included. So take a look, browse through the following recipes and products and may you be inspired to experiment from your very own kitchen.
There are SO many ways to use our products and we do have a section on our applicable products that has ‘Recipes’ and suggested ways of using them. It is my intention here however, as previously stated, that we have specific places of reference for ways in which to use some of our most popular products. It’s a way to show you too, how versatile good ingredients can be, and how easy it is to eat clean and be healthy. So without further ado, let’s just dive straight into the good stuff and have a browse through some of our amazing products and an array of ways in which to use them.
Psyllium Husk
Psyllium husk is a powerful fibre supplement that promotes digestive health by aiding regular bowel movements and alleviating constipation. Its soluble fibre absorbs water, creating a gel-like consistency that supports gut health and can help lower cholesterol levels. By improving satiety, psyllium husk may also assist in weight management, while its ability to regulate blood sugar makes it a valuable addition for overall metabolic health. Easy to incorporate into your diet, psyllium husk is a simple way to support digestive and cardiovascular wellness. It can be used for all ages also. I personally put it in my son's porridge (useful ways of hiding it in children’s food!), and use it in my flatbreads too, both recipes below. Let’s have a look at some ways to use our Psyllium Husk:
The good old traditional way of adding 1 tablespoon (5g) of Psyllium Husk to filtered/distilled water, and for a elevated detox method you could also add 1 teaspoon of Bentonite Clay, give it a mix, keep adding water if it clumps up but drink it as quick as you can at least 30 minutes before food. Tom did a great article on how to use these two products together which could be really useful if you wanted more information, so find this here.
Putting it in Porridge is a no brainer, especially for kids as you can hide this (such a parent win!) so I always recommend this for children suffering with constipation, or just generally for everyone who is looking for healthy, regular bowel movements:
30/40g Organic Jumbo Rolled Oats per person.
Organic Almond milk, enough to cover the oats per person.
1 tablespoon Psyllium Husk.
1 teaspoon Ancient Purity Hemp Seeds.
½ teaspoon of Cinnamon.
½ chopped up Pear (for extra fibre).
1 teaspoon of Honey drizzled on top at the end.
Psyllium Husk Flatbreads. Honestly there’s no easier flatbread. So just:
250g Self-raising Flour.
250g Organic Greek Yogurt.
2 tablespoons of Psyllium Husk.
A pinch of Ancient Purity Celtic Sea Salt.
Keith’s Ceremonial Cacao
One of my favourite allies in all things reset, health and gentleness – it’s Keith’s Ceremonial Cacao. Ceremonial cacao hits a little different, plus it is a delicious and nutrient-rich superfood offering numerous daily health benefits. Packed with antioxidants, magnesium, and mood-boosting compounds like theobromine, it enhances energy, supports heart health, and promotes relaxation. Its rich blend of nutrients helps reduce stress, improve focus, and elevate overall well-being. Enjoyed as a warm, mindful ritual, ceremonial cacao is a nourishing way to connect with your body and mind while savouring its indulgent flavour.
The best way I enjoy Cacao is a replacement for coffee in the morning; I add 25g-30g of Cacao (depending on how strong I’d like my dose, 30g is considered a ‘ceremonial’ dose) to my blender with:
Enough hot distilled water to fill a cup.
A dash of Barista Oat milk (for extra frothiness).
½ teaspoon of Cinnamon.
A pinch of Cayenne Pepper.
1 tablespoon of Organic Maple Syrup.
1 teaspoon of Ancient Purity Ashwaganda Powder (for extra anti-anxiety, calming boost).
½ teaspoon of Vanilla Extract (good quality).
A pinch of Ancient Purity Celtic Sea Salt.
Keith’s Cacao is so creamy and gorgeous but I’d only personally have a ceremonial dose perhaps twice a week, so if you’re looking to replace your coffee then just using the above method but adding between 15-22g (play about with these measurements, I know a gentleman who has 11g every day and swears by this!) instead. A great idea I’ve found too is if there is ever any leftover Cacao, or sometimes I now purposefully make more, I add this to ice cube trays and use it in a smoothie the next day – Genuis!
Cacao Powder
This is our Peruvian Criolla Cacao Powder. It’s the highest state of Cacao behind Ceremonial Cacao. So it is still loaded with zinc, protein and is a high source of magnesium and chromium – it’s a major longevity superfood!
My favourite way to use this, as always is as a “Hot Chocolate”, but a luxury one of course as there are ZERO additives in this one. So just like my ceremonial Cacao above, I use pretty much the same method and add in all the same ingredients, but just instead of Keith’s Ceremonial Cacao I use 2 teaspoons of this gorgeous Cacao Powder.
Another way to use this is to replace your Cocoa powders with this, Cacao Powder…so simple. Use it in your smoothies and your bakes and cakes. There’s a lovely Vegan ‘Chocolate’ Cake we make at home using our Cacao Powder, here’s the recipe:
1 cup Almond milk.
1 tablespoon Ancient Purity Apple Cider Vinegar.
2 cups all-purpose Flour.
1 cup Brown Sugar.
½ cup Cacao Powder (maybe a cheeky teaspoon more too).
2 teaspoons Baking Powder.
1 ½ teaspoons Baking Soda.
1 teaspoon Ancient Purity Celtic Sea Salt.
½ cup Ancient Purity Coconut Oil, melted.
½ cup unsweetened Apple Sauce (we make our own with baking apples).
1 tablespoon pure Vanilla Extract.
1 cup boiling water (add this in last thing when everything else is mixed together, steady and slowly, it will look runny but that’s perfect!).
Kakadu Plum Powder
Kakadu plum powder is a superfood rich in vitamin C, making it a powerful antioxidant that supports immune health, skin radiance, and collagen production. Its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties can promote better skin health and overall well-being. Packed with essential nutrients and bioactive compounds, it also helps combat oxidative stress and supports a healthy digestive system. Adding Kakadu plum powder to your diet is a natural and effective way to boost vitality and nourish your body. We call this one the ‘King of Antioxidants’ as it contains Folate, Vitamin E, Zinc, Iron and Lutein. Aboriginals have revered this fruit for centuries. So let’s have a look at some recipes that include our Kakadu Plum Powder:
Kakadu & Cacao Energy Balls! Ah gosh this is a favourite of mine, and my kids! Winner. If they're too sticky when you’re balling them, add a few more oats. However if they’re too dry when balling, add a tiny bit more maple syrup:
4 teaspoons Kakadu Plum Powder.
3 teaspoons of Ancient Purity raw Cacao Powder (as mentioned and linked above).
2 cups Jumbo Rolled Oats.
1 cup Peanut Butter.
½ cup Organic Maple Syrup (to help bind the energy balls).
1 tablespoon Flaxseed.
1 tablespoon Chia seeds.
1 teaspoon Ancient Purity Hemp Seeds.
You can add in whatever you want really, experiment with different nuts you like or if making for kids (my kids LOVE these) I would add in either chocolate chips or maybe some Ancient Purity Goji berries.
Kakadu Plum Green Smoothie is the best green smoothie I’ve had! Check it out:
¼ Pineapple.
1 Pear.
½ Lime.
¼ Cucumber.
2cm Ginger (a large cube).
1 stick Celery.
½ Avocado.
2 tablespoons Ancient Purity Kakadu Plum Powder.
3 Ice Cubes – when I have them left over, I’d chuck a Cacao Ice cube in there too!
Celtic Sea Salt
Our Celtic Sea Salt is a natural, mineral-rich salt known for its health benefits and distinct flavour. Unlike refined table salt, it retains essential trace minerals like magnesium, potassium, and calcium, which support hydration, muscle function, and overall cellular health. It can help balance electrolytes and promote better digestion by stimulating the production of digestive enzymes. Celtic sea salt is also alkalising, aiding in maintaining the body’s pH balance. Its coarse, moist texture and mild taste make it a popular choice for enhancing the flavour and nutritional value of meals and I use it in basically everything! I start my day with a glass of water and a generous pinch of our Celtic sea salt, but the love never ends with my water, it goes in everything; cakes, bakes, smoothies, cacao, batter mixtures, curries…I could go on. But instead of going on I’ll save your eyes (and your precious time) and just give you a couple of recipes instead:
Comforting Chicken Pie – so delicious and elevated by our salt:
15g Butter (to add to the pan to cook your leeks and mushrooms in).
250g Chestnut Mushrooms, thickly sliced.
3 tablespoons Plain Flour (to thicken your sauce).
300ml Chicken Stock.
150g Crème Fraîche.
1 tablespoon Dijon Mustard.
300g Diced Chicken Breast.
1 teaspoon Ancient Purity Celtic Sea Salt.
Handful of fresh Tarragon.
225g rolled Puff Pastry.
1 egg or milk to lightly glaze the pastry before it goes in the oven.
My favourite, Potato and Leek Soup – tell me of a more homely soup? Here it is:
4/5 large White Potatoes.
2 Leeks, chopped.
1 Carrot, chopped.
1 Shallot.
2 Garlic Cloves.
A few florets of Broccoli.
1 teaspoon Mixed Herbs.
1 teaspoon Ancient Purity Celtic Sea Salt.
1-2 litres Chicken Stock depending on the amount you wish to make – I use 2L, blitz and freeze what’s left over.
Dragon Fruit Powder
Dragon fruit powder offers numerous health benefits as a convenient and nutrient-rich supplement. Packed with antioxidants like vitamin C, it will help to boost the immune system. It’s also high in fibre, promoting healthy digestion and supporting gut health. The powder is a good source of iron, which aids in oxygen transport and energy production, as well as magnesium, essential for muscle and nerve function. Its vibrant colour comes from betalains, which have anti-inflammatory properties. So easy to incorporate into smoothies, desserts, and all kinds of drinks, dragon fruit powder is a versatile and healthful addition to any diet. Let’s have a nose at a couple of great ways to use this little gem, our Dragon Fruit Powder:
I stole this from our website ages ago and I’m putting it here now for you because it’s flipping amazing! It’s our Pink Pitaya Dragon Fruit Power Smoothie:
½ cup Ancient Purity Hemp Seeds.
1 cup distilled/filtered Water.
2 bananas.
1 tablespoon Ancient Purity Dragon Fruit Powder.
1 date, pitted.
½ cup Greek yogurt.
An extra cup of distilled/filtered water if you like it loose and not too thick.
I also sometimes add 1 teaspoon of Honey to this too.
I have made a very successful batch (a few batches now) of Vegan Cookies with our Dragon Fruit Powder too! If this is too dry I just keep adding drops of Almond milk until the dough comes together. So here is the recipe for my (slightly) pink, Vegan Cookies:
1 cup all-purpose Flour.
½ teaspoon Baking Powder.
½ teaspoon Ancient Purity Celtic Sea Salt.
1/3 cup Vegan Butter, softened.
2/3 cup Brown Sugar.
2 tablespoons Ancient Purity Dragon Fruit Powder.
½ cup Vegan Chocolate Chips (or any other add-in you like, it’s optional).
Goji Berries
Goji berries are celebrated for their impressive health benefits. Rich in antioxidants like zeaxanthin, they support eye health and help protect against free radical damage. These berries are also a good source of vitamins A and C, which boost the immune system and promote healthy skin. With their high fibre content, they aid in digestion and help maintain blood sugar levels. Goji berries contain essential amino acids, iron, and other minerals that support energy, endurance, and overall vitality. They’re so versatile and delicious and you really can enjoy them in so many things such as smoothies, teas (yep, in actual tea!), or as a yummy snack.
I personally have mine most of the time with my yogurts or in my energy balls. Here’s my go-to yogurt that I have on a regular basis:
2-3 generous tablespoons Live Greek Yogurt.
2 teaspoons Ancient Purity Goji Berries.
4 Brazil nuts.
5 Walnuts.
1 tablespoon Ancient Purity Hemp Seeds.
Handful of Blueberries.
Drizzle of Honey to complete.
A beautiful, winter Tea that I always turn to is this:
1 teaspoon Ancient Purity Goji Berries.
1 teaspoon Ancient Purity Ginger Powder (see below).
1 slice Orange.
1 Star Anise.
Sometimes I add 1 teaspoon of Ancient Purity Turmeric Powder (see below) too for an extra boost of protection.
Spirulina & Chlorella Powder
Spirulina and chlorella powder is a powerhouse combination of two nutrient-dense algae, offering a wealth of health benefits. Rich in complete protein, they provide essential amino acids ideal for muscle repair and overall vitality. Packed with vitamins like B12, iron, and chlorophyll, they boost energy, support detoxification, and promote oxygenation of the blood. Their potent antioxidants help combat oxidative stress and inflammation, while their high fibre content aids in digestion and gut health. Spirulina and chlorella powder is also known for supporting immune function and heavy metal detoxification, making it a versatile addition to health-focused recipes. I use this mainly in Smoothies or Juices! It adds in its array of vitamins and joined with berries. It's fantastic. I have also put this in my yogurts and overnight oats too.
So here’s my Juice recipe for our Spirulina & Chlorella Powder:
1 Apple.
1 Pear.
½ Cucumber.
½ Lime.
1 Stick of Celery.
1 Large Handful Organic Kale.
1 Large Handful Organic Spinach.
1 tablespoon Ancient Purity Spirulina & Chlorella Powder.
Mix all together well after juicing and enjoy!
Overnight Oats – now of course be open minded on the colour that your overnight oats will be in the morning! I personally quite like it (gives people something to talk about…):
1/3 cup homemade Granola.
1/3 cup Organic Jumbo Rolled Oats.
½ teaspoon Cinnamon.
1 tablespoon Chia Seeds.
1 tablespoon Nut Butter (any one you like).
1-2 teaspoons Ancient Purity Spirulina & Chlorella Powder.
½ cup Live Greek Yogurt (adapt to your own preference on consistency).
½ cup Berries (I sometimes mix Blueberries and Raspberries, or Strawberries on top of mine).
A drizzle of Honey on top.
Ginger
Ginger powder is a versatile and powerful natural remedy, offering numerous health benefits. Known of course mainly for its potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, it helps alleviate digestive issues, reduce nausea (I swear by this!), and soothe upset stomachs. Rich in compounds like gingerol, it supports joint health, boosts immunity, and may help reduce muscle pain. Ginger is also linked to improved circulation and cardiovascular health by promoting healthy blood flow. Easy to incorporate into teas, smoothies, and cooking, it adds a warm, spicy flavour while enhancing overall wellness. I add this to a lot of my teas so of course, take your favourite tea and add a teaspoon of Ancient Purity Ginger to it, thank me after. Below however is my all-time favourite recipe where this Ginger powder is the star! Let’s have a look:
This is my Butternut Squash Dhal, and it’s easily one of the best meals I make. Even my 6 year old loves this one:
1 Red Onion.
1 Celery Stick.
2 tablespoons Mild Curry Powder.
1 tablespoon Ancient Purity Ginger Powder.
600g Butternut Squash, peeled, deseeded and chopped into cubes.
2 tablespoons Tomato Puree.
2 tablespoons Ancient Purity Coconut Oil.
1.2L boiling Vegetable Stock OR 1-2 cans Organic Coconut Milk (depends how creamy you’d like it).
250g Red Lentils.
½ Lime, the juice.
Handful fresh Coriander to serve.
Turmeric
Turmeric powder, derived from the root of the turmeric plant, is a renowned spice with powerful health benefits. Its active compound, curcumin, is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, supporting joint health and reducing oxidative stress. Turmeric promotes a healthy immune system, aids in digestion, and may help improve heart and brain health. It is also known for its potential to enhance skin health and support the body’s natural detoxification processes. Widely used in so many dishes, smoothies, and teas, turmeric powder is a flavourful and beneficial addition to all of our diets. I use mine mainly again, in my teas. Generally before bedtime I have the following tea with Ancient Purity Turmeric:
Turmeric & Ginger Tea – It’s a powerhouse before bed:
1 teaspoon Ancient Purity Turmeric Powder.
1 teaspoon Ancient Purity Ginger Powder.
2 Cloves Garlic.
Squeeze of Lemon and a Lemon slice.
2 teaspoons Honey.
In 1 cup boiling Water that’s cooled slightly.
There is an amazing Turmeric & Chickpea Curry I make, and sometimes substitute the chickpeas with chicken:
1 tablespoon Ancient Purity Coconut Oil.
1 can drained, rinsed Chickpeas.
1 large Brown Onion.
2 Cloves Garlic.
2 teaspoons Ancient Purity Turmeric Powder.
2 teaspoons Ancient Purity Ginger Powder.
1 teaspoon Cumin.
1 teaspoon ground Coriander.
½ teaspoon ground Cardamom.
½ teaspoon Garam Masala.
2 cups cubed Butternut Squash OR Sweet Potato.
1 can Coconut Milk.
1 cup Ancient Purity Chicken Bone Broth or Stock.
2 cups Organic Spinach (for wilting in at the end before serving).
Squeeze over half a lime before serving.
Royal Jelly Powder
Royal Jelly Powder is a nutrient-rich supplement derived from Royal Jelly, the substance produced by bees to nourish their queen. It is packed with essential vitamins, proteins, amino acids, and antioxidants, which help boost immunity, support skin health, and promote overall vitality. Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, it may aid in reducing stress and enhancing energy levels. Royal jelly powder also contains compounds like 10-HDA, which are believed to support brain function and hormonal balance. Its convenient powdered form makes it easy to incorporate into all manner of things in the kitchen. From smoothies, teas, cakes and my famous overnight oats that you saw above too under the Spirulina & Chlorella Powder section; just add a teaspoon of this gorgeous Ancient Purity Royal Jelly Powder, mix and enjoy in the mornings.
Ok I’m stealing this again, straight from our website, another amazing smoothie that I made a while back, the Chocolate Banana Buzz with our Royal Jelly Powder:
1 ripe Banana.
1 tablespoon Ancient Purity Royal Jelly Powder.
1 tablespoon Ancient Purity Cacao Powder.
1 cup Almond milk.
1 tablespoon Maple Syrup or Honey, if, like me (if you haven’t guessed by now), you like things sweet.
Ice cubes (optional).
Nettle Leaf & Root Powder
Nettle Leaf and Root Powder is a powerhouse of nutrients and herbal goodness, delivering bold benefits for your health. Packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, it boosts energy, supports immune function, and promotes glowing skin. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it a natural ally for joint health and reducing discomfort. Known for supporting kidney and urinary health, Nettle Root also helps balance hormones and improve prostate health. Versatile and potent, Nettle Powder is your go-to for detoxifying, revitalising, and fortifying your body from the inside out. There are also quite a few ways you can use this. I’ve put this in soups, stews and of course, smoothies and teas! I’ve had it alone as a tea before for its specific urinary health benefits, and continue to do so; I just add a slice of lemon for taste. So let me give you a great recipe that I think you’ll love making as much as you do eating, with our simple, Nettle Leaf & Root Powder:
This is my quick Mushroom Stew, that takes 30 minutes to cook, brilliant! So here we go:
1 tablespoon Ancient Purity Coconut Oil.
1 Leek, chopped.
4 Cloves Garlic.
2 tablespoon Tomato Puree.
1 Medium Tomato, chopped.
2 teaspoons Mixed Herbs.
½ teaspoon Ancient Purity Celtic Sea Salt.
1 teaspoon Ancient Purity Nettle Leaf & Root Powder.
500g Mixed Mushroom varieties of your choice (I use button, chestnut and shiitake).
2 tablespoons Soy Sauce.
Chopped Parsley to serve with.
Elderberry Fruit Powder
The Elderberry is so superior in the superfoods department. Packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and immune-boosting properties that can help support overall health and wellness and known for its ability to strengthen the immune system, it may reduce the severity and duration of cold and flu symptoms. Additionally, Elderberry's anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties contribute to better respiratory health, while its rich nutrient profile supports skin health and combats oxidative stress. Incorporating Elderberry Powder into your routine is easy peasy, delicious and an effective way to enhance your body’s natural defences. So let’s have a look at the multiple ways you can incorporate our Elderberry Fruit Powder into your life:
A friend of mine makes an Elderberry Syrup which is amazing so I took it upon myself to find a recipe online where I could easily incorporate our Elderberry Fruit powder and adapt it to how myself and my family would enjoy it, so add all of the below to a pan (except the honey) and get making:
4 cups Distilled/Filtered Water.
2 tablespoons Ancient Purity Elderberry Fruit Powder.
1 teaspoon Ancient Purity Ginger Powder.
1 cup dried Rosehip.
2 sticks Cinnamon.
2 Star Anise.
½ of a Juice of Lemon.
At the end, once it’s cooled down off the boil/simmer and you’ve strained your mixture, add ½ cup of Honey, mix well and bottle up. Keep this in the fridge and have a tablespoon a day.
I have a go-to Tea recipe that is so simple and so gorgeous, it is as follows:
1 teaspoon Elderberry Fruit Powder.
1 Cinnamon stick.
1 slice of Orange.
1 cup of boiling distilled water (cooled down a little).
I know many people, friends and family that have tried my Smoothie recipe and of course, adapted it to suit their own tastes, but my base recipe for this smoothie is as follows:
1 teaspoon Elderberry Fruit Powder.
½ teaspoon of Cinnamon.
1 Banana.
1 handful of Blueberries.
½ cup of organic Jumbo rolled Oats.
2 teaspoons Ancient Purity Hemp Seeds.
1 cup of Organic Almond milk.
½ cup of Ice (from Distilled Water).
Pinch of Ancient Purity Celtic Sea Salt.
There we have it, I really hope you have been able to take something from the above as I’ve had these recipes for a while now and I love to share them. So I hope you, your friends and families can enjoy these recipes, as I know your body will adore them and it will thank you for being so creative and finding ways to incorporate these healthy products into your life. Don’t forget that when you use the above recipes, adjust the ingredients to your liking, make them your own, adjust the quantities of everything if you’d like, just be careful not to add too much of the powders as you don’t want to go into either using too much of your product, or going over the recommended daily allowance of those products in your food and drinks. Take my recipes with a pinch of salt; but make sure it’s Ancient Purity’s Celtic Sea Salt! Being healthy doesn’t have to look boring at all, in fact on the contrary; being healthy is SO MUCH FUN! Enjoy.
