Bio-Gum Powder: A Natural Approach to Optimal Gum Health
Maintaining optimal gum health is crucial for overall oral well-being, and conventional oral care products often contain a plethora of synthetic chemicals. There has been a growing interest in natural alternatives, and one such option in the oral department is Bio-Gum Powder. This innovative dental product harnesses the power of natural ingredients to promote gum health without the use of harsh chemicals.
Ancient Purity’s Bio-Gum Tooth Powder consists of Oak Bark, Comfrey Root, Horsetail, Peppermint and Cloves. This particular blend is made in store with the help of lots of traditional herbal knowledge. Embarking on new ventures in health care than what we’re used to can be a bit daunting at first, but when it comes to natural products, in this case plants and herbs, I don’t feel we have a huge amount to lose in trying something new. Unless you are aware of such allergies to particular plants and herbs, these can do absolutely no harm. So in my own personal venture for natural remedies, Bio-Gum Tooth Powder was an incredible find. In this article, we explore the benefits of using Bio-Gum Powder for gum health, we’ll also explore the individual ingredients found in our powder, and why it is a compelling alternative for those seeking a more natural approach to oral care.
The Benefits
Ahhh I love writing about the benefits of natural products because they are very real, tangible and endless. We took our inspiration from an American Herbalist and Naturopath called Dr John Christopher, whom was renowned for his work on herbs. He produced a tooth powder that yielded incredible results. It helped not only in brightening our teeth’s lustre, but also assisted in tightening loose teeth. These types of herbs have been used since the 1960’s for these purposes. Let’s have a look at some of the benefits of using Bio-Gum Powder:
Gentle & Natural Ingredients:
Bio-Gum Powder is typically composed of natural ingredients. These botanical extracts have been traditionally used in various cultures for their oral health benefits. Peppermint, for instance, is known for its antimicrobial properties, while comfrey root has anti-inflammatory effects. By incorporating these gentle and natural ingredients, bio-gum powder provides an effective yet soothing solution for gum care.
Free from Harsh Chemicals:
Unlike some conventional toothpaste and gum care products that may contain artificial preservatives, dyes, and abrasive agents, bio-gum powder is free from such harsh chemicals. This makes it a suitable choice for individuals with sensitivities or those who prefer to minimise their exposure to synthetic compounds. The absence of artificial additives contributes to a cleaner and more sustainable approach to oral care.
Balancing the Oral Microbiome:
Maintaining a healthy balance of bacteria in the oral microbiome is crucial for preventing gum diseases. Bio-Gum Powder, with its natural ingredients, helps support the growth of beneficial bacteria while minimising the proliferation of harmful bacteria. This balance is essential for preventing issues such as gingivitis and promoting an environment conducive to overall gum health.
Reducing Inflammation & Irritation:
Many individuals experience gum inflammation and irritation, often leading to discomfort and increased sensitivity. The anti-inflammatory properties of ingredients like comfrey root in bio-gum powder can help alleviate these symptoms. Regular use may contribute to a reduction in redness, swelling, and discomfort associated with gum-related issues.
Promoting Fresh Breath:
In addition to gum health, bio-gum powder often contains natural breath-freshening agents like peppermint/mint. These not only contribute to a pleasant and natural flavour but also help combat bad breath. The absence of synthetic fragrances ensures a fresh breath experience without the use of potentially harmful chemicals.
Environmentally Friendly:
Bio-gum powder is often packaged in eco-friendly and recyclable materials, aligning with the growing global emphasis on sustainable living. At Ancient Purity we store ours (and pretty much all our products) in Miron violet-glass Jars to preserve the quality of the product. By choosing a natural oral care product, consumers can contribute to reducing their environmental impact and promoting a more sustainable approach to personal hygiene.
How To Use It
The powder is very simple to use which really heightens its appeal! You just need to wet your tooth brush prior, then simply dip the brush lightly into the powder. Make sure you’re brushing with vertical movements, getting in all the nooks and cranny’s. If you have particularly acute gum issues then we suggest leaving the powder between the upper and lower lips and gums for as long as you can daily until you see improvement. Once you’ve rinsed off the powder, follow this with a Bio-Gum Tooth brushing regime. Bio-Gum Tooth Powder can be used safely on a daily basis.
If you believe your gums are in need of some extra support and detox then we would also recommend the Coconut Oil Pulling technique alongside the use of Bio-Gum Powder. You can find more information on our Coconut Pulling Oil here.
